Department of Computer Science and Engineering runs under the School of Engineering of Kathmandu University. The Department offers bachelors and masters degree programs in Computer Science and Engineering fields.

Why Computer Science?
The Study of Computer Science spans a wide range, from its theoretical and algorithmic foundation to cutting-edge developments in robotics, computer vision, intelligent systems, bio-informatics and other exciting areas.
The Work of Computer Science graduate falls into three categories:

Admission info
Candidate should have passed ISC (or 10+2 or equivalent) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in PCM.
The eligibility for admission to various programs of the university is guided by the scores achieved by the applicant in I. Sc., 10+2, or equivalent examination system.
For Bachelor of Computer Science- a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and minimum of 50% PCM* score.
(*PCM = Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics)
(**PCB = Physics, Chemistry & Biology)
Admission Procedure
- Application Form:
The application form can be collected from the Central Office, Dhulikhel by paying Rs. 300.00 (non refundable).
All applicants should submit the application form with a non-refundable payment of Rs. 400.00 to Kathmandu University.
In case of applicants who have downloaded form from the web,a non-refundable payment of Rs 700.00 will have to be made with submission of application.
Admission Test:
An admission test of two hours duration will be held to examine the candidates' proficiency in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics at the I.Sc. level.
Interview:
Short listed candidates will be interviewed by the concerned department to assess their aptitude.
Syllabus
The curriculum focuses on the theories, principles and practices of relevant ares of traditional electrical engineering and mathematics and applies them to the problems of designing computers and many kind of computer-based devices.
