Course Description:
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (B.Sc.IT) program has been developed to provide the students with adequate knowledge in both theoretical and practical to meet the ever-growing manpower requirement in the field of Information Technology in various Industries and Administrative fields.The design and implementation of BScIT offers new challenges when compared to the traditional computing environment. The recent emergence of global business, new technologies for data processing and data communication / networking environment, equip specialized science graduates to focus on professional careers in Information Technology.The BScIT program has been developed to provide the students with adequate theoretical and practical knowledge which will enable them to effectively participate in solving the complex problem of the IT industry.
Objectives
- Providing an in-depth understanding of and experience with computer systems.
- Developing creative and analytical skills that provides a basis for technological problem-solving.
- Equipping students with the technical knowledge required for an IT professionals to handle multi-tasking situations and to assess and develop computer based solutions.
- Imparting knowledge of computer and programming logic environment in IT.
- Knowledge of advanced IT applications in different business sectors.
- To equip students with the technical knowledge required for an IT professional to handle multi-tasking and multiprogramming situations and to assess and develop computer based solutions.
Admission info
Duration & Eligibility
The duration of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology is of three years (6 semesters). Candidate having qualification as 10+2(Any Discipline) or equivalent can apply for this course.B.Sc.(IT) is a 120 Credit Program.
Lateral Entry into Second Semester of B.Sc.(IT):
In case of Lateral Entry prior approval from the University is required.
- 10 + 2 and Six months Computer Course from a reputed institution and recognised institution.*,
- 3 year Diploma from a State Board of Technical Eduaction and six month computer course from a reputed institution and recognised institution.
Additional Fees: In addition to the regular fees, an additional fee is payable by students opting for this scheme.In this lateral entry scheme, a student has to appear and pass the first semester examination. Books of First Semester will be supplied by the University and assessment will be completed at the Learning Centers.
Examination
Examination will be conducted as per the schedule declared by University after every semester in the month of June/July and December/January. Examinations are being conducted at Kendriya Vidhalaya , Indian Embassy premises, Kathmandu. Examination will consist of Internal Assessment (30%) and Theory Examinations (70%) as per the University guidelines. For passing the examination minimum 35% marks must be scored in each passing head individually. For passing the semester, the aggregate must be 40% in Theory and Internal Assessment groups separately.
