EMBA Program Duration
The KUSOM EMBA program is an intensive two-year course, stretched over six terms, with every academic year having three terms:
- Spring Term (February - May),
- Summer Term (June - September);
- Fall Term (October - January)
3. EMBA Curriculum
The EMBA curriculum is designed to enrich both theoretical and practical knowledge in management while helping them to enhance the depth and breadth of their managerial capabilities. It contains the best and the latest in management knowledge and practice to keep participants updated with the evolving nature and challenges of management profession from the perspective of practitioners.
Five blocks of learning contents constitute the structure of the program:
- Management Core [19 Credits],
- Analytical Base [16 Credits]
- Leader and Strategist Role [17 Credits]
- Functional Expertise [9 Credits]
- Elective [3 Credits]
Total credit one has to earn to complete EMBA program is 64.
4. Teaching Methods
Course Delivery
KUSOM emphasizes more on learning by the students themselves rather than on teaching them. It adopts those teaching methods that encourage students' active participation and involvement.
The school main teaching tools are:
- Case Methods;
- Group discussion and presentations;
- Field visits;
- Project work assignments etc.
Throughout the two-year program, students are motivated to define and analyze the problems or issues, evaluate options and make decision. Lecture, oral presentation, and other teaching methods like role playing, class room exercises, debates etc. are used to complement the case method and project works.
5. Evaluation
In each term the faculty members responsible for the course do evaluation of academic performance of students in each course offered. The academic performance of the students will be judged through:
(a) Continuous In-term Assessment and
(b) End-term Examination.
The Continuous In-term Assessment of the student will be made by the concerned faculty member in any or a combination of
(a) Written test
(b) Quizzes and oral test
(c) Workshop practices
(d) Assignments
(e) Term paper
(f) Project work
(g) Case studies, analysis and discussion
(h) Open Book test
(i) Class participation etc.
The End-term examination is normally a paper and pencil test.
The mode of evaluation in a given course is decided by the concerned faculty member who may assign varying weights to one or more of the evaluation modes. The faculty members will announce such weights in the beginning of the course.
Grading Mode
In each course, student will be evaluated on a 4-point scale.
Failures, Probation and Dismissal
- A student must maintain a Trimester Grade Point Average (TGPA) of 2.00 or above at the end of each term.
- No student can graduate with 'F' in any particular course.
- A student must to gain CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) of 3.00 or above at the end of the Program.
- If student gets more than two 'F's in any term, he will be subject dismissal from the program.
Recognition for Academic Achievement
High scholastic achievement of students is recognized upon gradation by awarding Graduation with Merit based on CGPA as follows:

- The amount is payable in 12 installments for Individual EMBA package and 5 installments for corporate sponsor package.
- For students from SAARC countries, one and half times of the normal fee;
- For students from other countries, double the normal fee.
- These expenses do not include cost of books and stationary, accommodation, or any other personal expenses.The fees charged by the School are subject to change without prior notification.

With a view to seek best qualified students, regardless of their financial status, KUSOM provides assistance to get education loan from the selected banks.

Program Requirement
KUSOM EMBA is open to Nepali and non-Nepali nationals with
- Three years of work experience at the supervisory / managerial level
- A Bachelor's degree of at least two years' duration in any discipline with second division in aggregate.
EMBA Admission Process starts every December.
Selection Process
Upon submission of the completed application form with two letters of recommendations, transcripts of previous degrees, and the payment of admission test, the Admission Committee administers the admission process.
Selection of the candidates is based on:
- Scores on the KUSOM Management Admission Test (verbal and quantitative reasoning, and proficiency in English language),
- written English test, and
- personal interview;
- Relevant and productive managerial experience; and
- Merit of academic attainments up to the undergraduate level
