Course Description:

BCIS program of Pokhara University assimilates Information Technology (IT) with Business Management in order to address the emerging needs of today’s business world. The BCIS program under Pokhara University, is designed to impart both theoretical foundation and practical skills in computer information systems and IT.

The program  focuses on database design, coding languages, marketing, accounting, e-commerce, software, network administration, and resource management. Students learn to utilize computer systems and digital databases to solve business problems.

> To familiarize students with the concepts and tools of management required in decision making.
> To equip students with the concepts and skills to use information technology for problem solving.
> To inculcate the students the skills required to meet the needs of industry for specialist MIS professionals.
> To help students learn to become socially responsible professionals and citizens.

Many organizations require competent and skilled professionals to analyze, design, implement, and manage information systems in order to compete in today's complex environment. Graduates of the BCIS program are expected to work for public or private, small or large, domestic or international, profit-making or non-profit organizations.

Career After BCIS
Students who complete the BCIS program are expected to work as software and hardware programmers, system analysts, information analysts, database managers, network administrators, trainers, instructors, and salespeople. Students may also pursue advanced degrees in management, information technology, and computer application. All graduating students are either employed or pursuing further education.

Eligibility
Applicant should have passed intermediate or equivalent in Science to be eligible to apply for this course. They must have acquired 50% score in their intermediate.
