Course Description:
Bachelor in Business Management (BBM) is one of the highly demanded Programmes offered by the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University. The Programme is designed to address national and international needs of management education with the aim of developing efficient and capable manpower for business, government and social sectors. The course design ensures a greater degree of flexibility that allows incorporating latest development of theory and practice in management around the globe.
This Programme is based on semester system, which covers 4 years: spread over eight semesters. Each semester consists of 16 weeks of intensive study. The Programme covers 120 credit hours. The curricular structure includes business tool courses, business foundation courses, computer courses, focus area courses and elective area ourses as well.
Programme Significance
BBM course strictly adopts student centered approach in teaching and learning. It is heavily loaded with live business incidents and situations that are shaping the future of national and international business. The attempts of bridging the gap between theory and practice are attractions of the Programme delivery.
Teaching methodology of the Programme is focused on problem-based learning along with interactive lectures, students’ presentations, case studies, projects and industrial visits. The teaching faculty shall determine the appropriate teaching-learning meth- ods for each course. The Programme specifically zzclaims its significance of addressing the challenges ahead of youth unemployment, social unjust and unrest, worker obsoleteness, and urgency of innovative entrepreneurship and management in the 21th century. The massive skills mismatch and information gap in job market, presence of the seekers than job creators are others dimensions of its focused significance.

There is a need of skillful and capable manager in the days ahead. A skilled manager only springs in a certain environmental and institutional Programme context. A well-crafted professional Programme like this is not a total solution, but delivery context of the Programme is more laudable. This Programme is not only a response for a growing consensus that management education is needed to recalibrate in line with a changing and challenging business environment but also in the context of the students and industries in the field of performance, productivity, and innovation. There is a clear need of innovative management education practice to use experiential learning opportunities to ensure that the next cohorts of business managers can operate in a contemporary, dynamic and complex business environment. Graduates of the BBM program can pursue a variety of careers in the business and management fields. They can work as managers, executives, consultants, and business owners, among other things. Graduates can also continue their education with a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or other related fields.
Admission info
ELIGIBILITY
Minimum D+ grade in each subject of grade 11 and 12 with CGPA 1.8 or more
Or
Minimum score of second division marks in 10+2, PCL or Equivalent in any discipline.
Or
Students who are waiting for grade 11 and grade 12 results can also apply. However, they have to submit passed certificate of grade 11 and 12 at the time of admission.
Eligible applicants are required to appear in the entrance test commonly known as the Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by the Faculty of Management. The test will follow the international testing pattern and standards. It includes the areas like:
> Verbal ability
> Quantitative ability
> Logical reasoning
> General awareness
There shall be altogether one hundred (100) objective questions in the CMAT containing twenty (25) questions in each section with a total weight of 100 marks. Students must secure a minimum of 40% in the CMAT in order to qualify for the interview.
FOM shall conduct a Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) that will test the basic ability of the students in verbal ability and quantitative ability. The test shall be based on the SAT format. The colleges running the program shall conduct individual presentations and interviews for selecting suitable candidates. The admission committee of the colleges has the final authority in selecting the students for the BBM program.
Admissions of the students in BBM program of Tribhuvan University will be strictly on the basis of merit list.
