Course Description:
The Bachelor of Technical Education (B. Tech. Ed.) in Information Technology program is designed to prepare students for careers in the private and public sectors as instructors, teachers, trainers, or professionals in technical and vocational education subject areas.
Both educational and IT disciplines are integral to this program's curriculum. Beyond the realm of IT, the course encompasses subjects linked to education and pedagogy.
The IT aspect incorporates subjects such as software development, software engineering, programming languages, digital logic, and e-learning management systems. The distribution between theory and hands-on practice is evenly balanced at fifty-fifty. This involves students undertaking two internships, which encompass both teaching and practical work.
The program mandates a cumulative of 136 credit hours. Within this framework, there are allocations of 18 credit hours for core subjects, 20 credits for vocational pedagogy, 80 credit hours for IT specialization, and 18 credit hours for internships and research.
The B. Tech. Ed. in Information Technology program has eight semesters. The program has a total of 136 credit hours. A semester assessment will be given at the end of each semester. However, the total time required to complete the Program must not exceed seven years, according to Kathmandu University policy. Graduates of the B Tech Ed Program are typically eligible for master's level studies (equivalent to Level 7) in technical and vocational education, teacher education, general management, technology management, educational leadership, TVET management, and rural technology, to name a few areas.

Eligibility
The minimum prerequisite for this program is the completion of Level 5 education in relevant vocational specializations. The details are-
Minimum D+ grade in each subject of grade 12 with a CGPA 1.6 or more
OR
A minimum score of second division marks in 10+2, PCL, or equivalent in any disciplines
