Master of Public Health (MPH)
Public Health academia is growing concern of world communities. The public health as an independent discipline covers wider range of preventive, promotive, rehabilitative and re-integrative health. The relationship of social, economical and technological development with diseases proved in the overall development processes. Similarly, triple burden of disease and their management encouraged public health scientists to work for overall development of public health sector.
Prevention and control of diseases challenging to the political commitment, people participation, inter-sectoral coordination and priority based resource mobilization and uses. Public Health word forces should be at the forefront with key personnel working together in a wide range of government and non-governmental organizations. Public health viewed as one of the important and effective approach to achieve national development goals. The development of public health profession including training, education, continuous education and research activities are still inadequate to address those challenges of public health in Nepal. This MPH curriculum is expected to tracks public health professionals to take organizational leadership for assuring better health management and improving quality of life of the people through better quality health service delivery. This can be achieved through an updated contemporary community need based curricula which can address the real needs of modern public health issues and appropriate public health management in diverse settings. This curriculum has been structured to cope with diversity of changing demands of public health problems. Besides the core courses, the curriculum provides opportunities for the students to purse individual interest through broad based choice of effective subjects.
Mission
To provide complete guide as a cornerstone that directs to prepare competent public health managers for the improvement and enhancement of equality health services.
In order to develop public health managers/experts the curriculum provides knowledge and skills to a wide range of public health issues through organized, interdisciplinary efforts in term on physical, mental, socio behavioral and environmental health concerns, health promotion and diseases prevention, technologies, planning implementing and evaluating health programs. Graduate will be acquire the knowledge of formulating health policies in collaboration with community and government leaders, developing leadership skills for organization and human resource management and contributing health research for innovation and prioritizing public health issues.

The duration of the course is 18 months .Core subjects of the course are included in the first semester followed by core subjects and elective subjects in the second semester and dissertation work in the last six month period of the third semester.
Admission info
Applicants with the following requirements will be considered for this program
Category I At least Bachelor's Degree holder in Health Sciences (MBBS, Public Health, and BN/B.Sc Nursing) Pharmacy, Radiography, Health Lab and Veterinary Medical Sciences from accredited institutions with minimum one year experiences in concerned health science field

Category II At leastBachelor's Degree in any disciplines with at least three year work experiences in health related field
.
Both the category I and II groups should have evidences on English language proficiency to cope with delivered lecturers in English language. A separate English test and / pr TOFEL/ILTES test scored equivalent to 500. For this purpose a detailed criteria will be developed by examination committee.
Selection Criteria
Selection committee will analyze applicants' required credentials and experiences and provide opportunity to eligible applications to take the entrance examination. The selection will be done based on a merit list of the entrance examination test result.
Note: The MPH selection committee my grant direct admission into prerequisite and MPH courses to foreign applicants under category I and II without the requirement of entrance test.
Syllabus
This MPH course is divided into three components: (a) the core courses carry a total of 27 credits. It is followed by (b) elective courses of 9credits (c) Dissertation carries 12 credits. Thus the program consists of a total 48 credit. One credit hour equal to 40 study Hours. Semester wise distribution of course structure is as follows:
