Course Description:
Pokhara University offers a two-year (4-semester) M.Sc. in Hydropower Engineering program. The program's goal is to develop highly skilled technical human resources capable of planning and designing hydropower projects while considering hydrological, sedimentological, geotechnical, socio-environmental, and climate change issues for long-term development.
The curriculum includes both theoretical and practical components for defining, planning, building, and operating small and large-scale hydropower plants. The M.Sc. in Hydropower Engineering program will help meet the demand for Master's level professionals with in-depth knowledge of hydropower. Graduates should be able to work in multidisciplinary teams and conduct their own research.

Eligibility
The candidate, pursuing the admission must have four years Bachelors of Engineering degree in Civil or its equivalent from recognized institutions with a score of at least second division (or 2.0/4.0 CGPA).

Structure of the Curriculum
Pokhara University's Master of Science in Hydropower Engineering program is designed to produce highly skilled technical human resources with the full capacity to plan and design hydropower projects with due appreciation and consideration for hydrological, sedimentological, geotechnical, socio-environmental, and climate change issues for project sustainability in harmony with nature.
The program expects graduates to be able to work in interdisciplinary teams and conduct independent research. This is a two-year program with four semesters. For graduation, a student must successfully complete 45 credit hours of course work and 15 credit hours of thesis work.
