Course Description:
Mission and objective of PGDPS
The mission of FOM'S Post Graduate Diploma in Police Science (PGDPS) is to develop socially responsible, creative and result oriented police professionals to fill up the middle level positions in police organization of Nepal.
The course provides a professional qualification indicating the achievement of intellectual skills and comprehensive knowledge and undertaking of general and specialized areas of police service.
Examination, Evaluation and Grading System
The final exam of the courses will be conducted by the faculty of management of Tribhuvan University. The course evaluation consists of internal evalutation, practical examination and final semester examinations depending upon the nature of the course.
The internal examination will carry 40% weightage, 20% of which goes to practical examination (wherever applicable) and rest of the percentage will be given to the final semester examinations.
The grading system will be in the Grade Point Average (GPA) and letter grade system.
The final grade of a student will be determined on the overall performance in the internal and external examinations.
Passing Grade and Grading System
The student must secure a minimum grade 'C' or GPA of 2.0 in the internal evaluation in order to qualify to appear to the semester examination. The student may pass in individual paper with grade of 'D' of GPA 1.5 in order to pass in the semester examination, the student must secure grade of 'C' or the average cumulative grade point (CGPA) of 2.0. Student who secures a grade 'D' is not promoted to the next semester.

Graduation Requirement
The PGDPS degree is awarded on its successful completion. All the candidate for the PGDPS must fulfill the following requirements:
- The successful completion of 30 credit hour as prescribed with a minimum passing grade in all course with an aggregate semester grade of 2.0 or later grade of 'C'.
- Completion of the program must occur within five years of the registration.
Admission info
Eligibility For Admission
The candidate applying for PGDPS must:
- Have successfully completed bachelor degree from any discipline from Tribhuvan University or any other university recognized by Tribhuvan University.
- Fulfills the in service conditions, or have equivalent professional experience in police service.
- Compiled with all the application procedures.
Admission Criteria
The candidate for the PGDPS programme will be selected by the entrance test administrated by the office of the Dean of Management, TU.

* The candidate has to conduct an independent study on any specialized area provided in the police related course and the candidate has to write a report in this course.
Attachment Programme
There will be an attachment programme (internship) in between the semesters. The candidate has to work in the organizational environment for three months. The evaluation of this will be based on the internal report of the organization, written report and the oral presentation
