Additional Rs 90 M demanded for SLC results
The Office of Examination Control has come across financial crunch to carry out residual works on the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations held recently.
Since the amount of Rs 280 million received this year was expended for the conduction of examinations, the Office is in a dire need of additional fund of Rs 90 million to complete rest of its works, said Examination Controller Khagaraj Baral.
A process is on to make the release of fund from Ministry of Finance through Education Ministry, he said, adding that the answer sheet checking will be affected and it will be tougher to publish the results if the fund was not released.
The budget released was completely spent to manage expenses increased with the set up of additional 32 examination centres and 50,000 examinees, he said.
The Controller further said that the amount was also expended in security arrangement, printing of answer sheets, transportation and allowance for superintendents.
Total 547,000 students had taken SLC examination held from March 14-22.
