BCA Inter-College Futsal Cup at DAV College concludes with Grand Success
The third episode of BCA Cup Men’s Inter-College Futsal Cup, 2025, hosted by DAV College, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, came to a spectacular conclusion on January 15, following a thrilling three-day event.
A total of 24 teams from 22 BCA Colleges spanning the Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur districts participated, showcasing exceptional sportsmanship throughout the competition.
The event was graced by the Chief Guest Mr. Gillespie Jung Karki- Striker for Butwal Lumbini in the Nepal Super League, the Guest of Honour- DAV Chairperson Shree Anil Kedia, Special Guest- Dr. Chiranjivi Acharya, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and distinguished guests- Prof. Dr. Manoj Kumar Chaudhary- Chief Academic Advisor, DAV College, Mr. Binay Khakurel- Chairman of Shilapatra News Portal, Mr. Sandesh Dawadi- General Manager of Trishuli Villa and Mr. Shashi Bhusan Chaturvedi- Academic Head of DAV BSc and BCA College.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the representatives of the participating colleges, who, alongside their students, added vibrancy and excitement to the atmosphere.
The tournament ran smoothly thanks to the invaluable contributions of Mr. Ujjawal Limbu and Mr. Madhukar Acharya, referees from the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), whose dedication ensured the event's success from start to finish.
This prestigious competition marked the first of its kind to be organised by a graduate college in Nepal.
In the final match, Nagarjuna College emerged victorious, securing the winner’s trophy along with a cash prize of NPR 150,000, gold medals, and a merit certificates. Additionally, Trishuli Villa generously awarded the winning team with a free rafting package.
Pascal College’s Team 'B' claimed the runner-up position, earning a cash prize of NPR 75,000, silver medals, and a merit certificates.
Individual accolades were presented to Aavash Yonjan from Pascal College, who was named Best Player, while Rishav Shrestha of Nagarjuna College was honoured as the Best Goalkeeper, and Shreyon Shrestha, also from Nagarjuna College, received the Best Scorer Award.
The closing ceremony was graced by DAV Chairperson Mr. Anil Kedia, who congratulated and presented awards to the winners.
The tournament was attended by an enthusiastic crowd of nearly 5,000 spectators, who filled the stands with cheers and energy, providing a thrilling atmosphere for the entire event.
Organised by the Whizzy DAVians Event Club, with support from DAV BCA College, the tournament was made possible by the collective efforts of the event organisers, including Mr. Sudip Adhikari, Head of the Department; Ms. Rahita Shakya, President of the Whizzy DAVians Event Club; Mr. Manshree Shakya, Vice President; and Mr. Maheshwor Silwal, Secretary.
