GAN gifts grass to HSEB officials
BHAKTAPUR: Guardians Association Nepal (GAN) today gifted grass to officials of Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) for delaying publication of results of various faculties of Grade XII.
GAN today gave a five-day ultimatum to HSEB officials to publicise the result and warned of stern protest if it failed to do so within the deadline.
Suprabhat Bhandari, president, GAN today said that they were compelled to organise such a ridiculous programme at HSEB to demonstrate that officials in HSEB were like animals in a symbolic way. The officials had delayed the result publication repeatedly.
He said, “Thousands of students are worried about delayed result publication. Students stand to miss several national and international entrance exams due to the delay. But HSEB was not serious regarding adverse consequences of delay in result publication.”
Earlier too, GAN had exerted pressure on HSEB to publish the result of Science Faculty. After pressure from GAN, HSEB had published the Grade XII Science result on August 30. The exam was held in May and as per rules, HSEB has to publish the result within 90 days of completion of the board exam.
However, HSEB officials said result publication was delayed due to the protest of teachers who examine answer sheets.
Narayan Koirala, acting member secretary and spokesperson, HSEB said that they were trying their best to publish the result of all faculties as soon as possible.
He informed that everything was ready but the number of missing students was high therefore they were currently downsizing the list of the missing.
He assured the result would be published no later than the day it was published last year. “We had published the result on September 25 last year so we will publish it before the deadline given by guardians this year,” he added.
More than 200,000 students from Management, Humanities and Education faculties have been waiting for their result.
