Minister against expensive educational ads
Education Minister Dina Nath Sharma today urged Plus Two colleges to invest on quality education and teachers’ facilities rather than spend on expensive advertisements.
Even if it is the age of advertisement, big expensive ads cannot beat investment in quality education, he said addressing the 8th Wai Wai 2069 annual education award presented by Aajako Aawaj Media today.
Rather than spending millions on advertisements, he said, educational institutions should enhance the standard of education, increase teachers’ facilities and reduce monthly fees.
“It will be appreciable if academic institutions prove themselves by producing capable students,” he said, stressing that institutions should focus on practical aspects of learning rather than sticking to the curriculum.
“Our education system is erroneous, therefore it should be corrected,” he said adding that education should be able to create more than just certificate holders.
Technical and vocation education is the need of the hour, he said.
At the award ceremony, he handed over certificates to SLC toppers, Plus two toppers, A Level topper and others.
