SLC examination: Mother to grandmother attending
Bhaktapur: Women studying at Astha Women's School at Gatthaghar in Bhaktapur district are attending this year's School Leaving Certificate examinations that started from today.
The school is running for education of mothers, grandmothers and housemaid women, who have desire to study but did not get opportunity for going school in the past.
The women are attending the SLC examinations this year for the first time.
Principal of the school, Parbati Gyawali, said that a total of 11 women aged from 24 to 60 are attending the examinations.
Meanwhile in Ilam, as many as 413 students are deprived of attending this year's SLC examinations as they failed to make 75 per cent attendance.
Similarly, a mourner is attending the examinations in Nuwakot district. Ramesh Dhakal is a regular student of Bhairum Higher Secondary School.
Likewise, two prisoners—Shambhu Gurung of Ganesh Kunda Secondary School at Darkha in Dhading and Suman Thapaliya of Janagyan Higher Secondary School at Thanapati in Nuwakot district- are attending the examinations.
Similarly in Khotang district, four visually impaired students are attending this year's SLC examinations for the first time.
According to the District Education Office, Khotang, Pushpa Rai, Som Magar and Prabir Rai of Diktel-based Pancha Secondary School and Bhakta Bishwokarma of Kharmi-based Kalika Secondary School are attending the examinations.
