Tribhuvan University has changed Examination and Evaluation of Semester System .
The new rule (given below regarding GPA calculation) will be effective from academic year (2074/75), 2017 admission group.
Grade A
- Grade Point Average (GPA): 4.0
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): 4.00
- Marks Obtained in Percent: 90% & above
- Remarks: Distinction
Grade A-
- Grade Point Average (GPA): 3.7
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): 3.70-3.99
- Marks Obtained in Percent: 80-89.9%
- Remarks: Very good
Grade B+
- Grade Point Average (GPA): 3.3
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): 3.30 – 3.69
- Marks Obtained in Percent: 70 – 79.9%
- Remarks: First Division
Grade B
- Grade Point Average (GPA): 3.0
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): 3.00 – 3.29
- Marks Obtained in Percent: 60 – 69.9%
- Remarks: Second Division
Grade B-
- Grade Point Average (GPA): 2.7
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): 2.70 – 2.99
- Marks Obtained in Percent: 50 – 59.9%
- Remarks: Pass in individual paper
Grade F
- Grade Point Average (GPA): 2.70
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA): Below 2.70
- Marks Obtained in Percent: Below 50%
- Remarks: Fail
