TSC to publish teachers' exam results by end of November
Bhaktapur: The Teachers’ Service Commission, the government body which appoints teachers for community schools, will publish results of permanent teachers’ exams held on May 23-25 after Constituent Assembly polls.
The exams were held for selection of 2,286 teachers at the secondary level, 2,793 at the lower secondary level and 7,980 teachers the primary level. A total of 61,620 applicants had applied for vacant positions at the secondary level, 168,184 for lower secondary level posts and 250,954 for primary level posts. The TSC said it is done with what it called ‘first-phase marking’ of answer sheets. Udaya Raj Soti, TSC chairperson, said the commission is currently re-examining the sheets in the second phase to avoid errors. He informed that the correction work will be over before CA polls. Soti said TSC will publish the results by November-end.
“It would not have been possible for us to publish the results of all levels in various districts. Moreover, publishing results for reservation quotas would have taken more time. Completing these tasks will take a few days more,” he said. The enforcement of the Election Code of Conduct means the TSC cannot publish results before polls.
Soti said TSC would have requested the EC to allow it to follow its own schedule if there were chances of delays causing adverse impacts. We decided to publish the results only after polls also because we too are not ready for the results yet, he said. “November-end would be suitable for us too,” he added.
