TU preparing to conduct all suspended examinations by mid-August
June 3: The Tribhuvan University (TU) is preparing to conduct all the examinations that have been suspended for the last 19 months by mid-August, according to Dharmakanta Baskota, vice chancellor at the TU.
The examination of Bachelor first year has been suspended for 19 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking at a virtual press conference on Wednesday, he said that even though the university conducted online classes during the pandemic last year, online education was not accessible to students from remote areas. He said that the Office of TU Academic Council had decided last year to conduct the examination in an alternative method by the Dean's Office and the Examination Control Division.
"Tribhuvan University has its presence in 76 districts," said Vice Chancellor Baskota. "TU has 125 teaching units. We had a discussion with everyone for the past two weeks on how to move forward with the education system now. Fine arts, Hindi, Sanskrit and nursing classes in Biratnagar have not been conducted online yet. We have started online classes for other faculties through the Microsoft team.”
“The university is preparing to publish the routine of the Bachelor first year examinations, which has been suspended for 19 months, from June 29. All the suspended examinations will be completed by mid-August,” he said, adding that if the examinations are related to the Dean's Office, the office will conduct the examination using a suitable method and if it is related to the examination center, it will conduct the examination using a suitable alternative method too.
