TUTA protest begins
The Tribhuvan University Teachers’ Association initiated a sit-in before the TU central office in Kritipur on Friday, demanding a three-point deal reached with university authorities on September 25 be implemented at the earliest. TU authorities had inked the agreement with the TUTA on September 25 after they were locked inside their office for more than 28 hours.
The TUTA also warned of disrupting administrative work if authorities failed to implement the agreement by Tuesday. “We had to act tough as the authorities paid no heed to our mild protests,” said TUTA General Secretary Prem Raj Khaniya.
