Syllabus of Lok Sewa Section Officer (Sakha Adhikrit) 2081 2024
The Public Service Commission (PSC - Lok Sewa Aayog) holds Integrated and Unified Examinations to select Section Officer (Sakha Adhikrit) for various services, including Foreign Affairs, General Administration, Auditing, and Parliamentary Service.
The Public Service Commission (PSC - Lok Sewa Aayog) has decided to increase the stringency for examinations of Section Officer (Sakha Adhikrit), Nayab Subba, and Kharidar beginning with fiscal year 2081/82 . Previously, candidates had to score 40 marks to pass the first paper of Section Officer (Sakha Adhikrit), Nayab Subba, and Kharidar levels. The commission has now set a passing score of 45 marks for the first paper.
According to the commission's spokesperson, only those who score 45 points in the preliminary phase on a 100-point objective question paper will be eligible to take the second paper exam, making PSC exams more organized and competitive. The commission has revised the syllabus to remove the provision for adding 50% of the total marks obtained in the first paper to the second paper marks for the current fiscal year. A preliminary exam will be administered during the first phase of the written exam, and it will be used solely for selection purposes. The marks obtained in this exam will not be included in the overall exam results. According to the commission, the first and second papers will have separate existence after this provision is implemented.
Exam Syllabus
The exam syllabus is based on the Integrated and Unified Examination System. It consists of two parts: the written examination (first and second stages) and the final stage examination (skill test, group test, and interview). There are additional exams (both written and final) for candidates competing for foreign services.
Written Examination ( First and Second Stages)
The written examination plan will be required for all groups of non-technical services (Foreign Affairs, Administration, Audit, and Parliamentary). However, additional subjects will be added for the Nepal Foreign Affairs Service. Based on the Integrated & Unified Examination System, the first, second, and third papers/subjects for all groups of the services listed above will be common and required. The open and inclusive group examinations for all of the aforementioned services and their sub-groups will be conducted using a single question paper. The written examination will be conducted in Nepali, English, or both languages. However, the Nepal Foreign Affairs Service will use English for the additional subjects.
Skill Test, Group Test & Interview
Only candidates who pass the written examination will be eligible to take part in the final phase's skill test, group test, and interview. The interview will be held separately for those who received different full marks (i.e., foreign service applicants and other candidates).
Final Result
The final examination result will be published based on the combined marks from the written examination, skill test, group test, and interview in the final phase.
