Course Description:
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a five-and-a-half-year-long undergraduate course of Kathmandu University which includes one year compulsory internship. Ten Medical Colleges offers MBBS program in Nepal with affiliation from Kathmandu University.
The MBBS program is divided into three parts: the first two years are dedicated to basic medical sciences. These years also include an overview of clinical sciences. Students will rotate through various medical specialties over the next two and a half years to learn the principles and skills of clinical medicine. Internships make up the final year of study.

Eligibility
- Must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized educational institution and passed with a minimum of 50 percent or 2.4 CGPA in the proficiency certificate level or Grade 12 Science group.

- Students from A-level or other similar programs with different grading systems should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects and passed with a minimum of 50 percent or 2.4 CGPA.
or
- Proficiency Certificate or Diploma in Health Science (General Medicine or Medical Lab Technology or Ophthalmic Science or Dental Science or Pharmacy or Radiography or Ayurveda or Physiotherapy) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and passed in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from the National Examination Board Must have obtained at least 50% or 2.4 CGPA marks and have obtained the equivalence of Grade 12th Science group and should be registered in the respective council.
Syllabus
The core curriculum for the MBBS program shall be composed of the following pre-clinical and clinical departments.
The first four semesters are devoted to the study of preclinical Science. Disciplines of Preclinical sciences are Human Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology and Pharmacology, Community Medicine. The students are also introduced to clinical knowledge and skills with a subject o Introduction to Clinical Sciences.
The teaching-learning activities in community Medicine conducted from the first through the seventh semester. The Clinical Sciences subjects are taught from fifth to Ninth Semester. The teaching-learning experiences in Forensic Medicine, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology-Head are done in the Sixth and Seventh semesters. The Subjects of Medicine and Allied Subject, Surgery and Allied Subjects, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics are taught from fifth to the ninth semester,
