Course Description:

1. ABOUT

The main objective of the degree is to provide participants the opportunity to enhance their professionalism. It aims to imbibe a sense of strategic outlook to management problems in students. The emphasis, therefore, is on management as an integrated process and requires the students to develop a global view of economic, technological, cultural and political environment of business.

The program specifically intends to:

  • develop resourceful individuals capable of addressing the challenges of the 21st century
  • broaden the career prospects of participants by imbibing a strategic outlook in them
  • enhance their initiative and employability by developing their professionalism

 

 

Admission info

Eligibility

Admission to the program is based on academic promise of the applicants as indicated by their academic records, scores on entrance test and personal interview. All the applicants have to appear in a computer-based entrance test, which is designed to assess the applicant's quantitative aptitude and proficiency in English language.

Students, who have successfully completed or expect to successfully complete, a minimum three years bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline, with a minimum of 2nd division marks or a CGPA of 2.0 are eligible to apply.

Selection Process

Candidates will be offered admission based on the Admissions Committee's assessment of the prospective students' past academic performance, entrance examination score, interview score, and ability to contribute to the program.

 

The admission test will consist of English language aptitude test & quantitative aptitude test.

Syllabus

The MBA program is to be completed within six trimesters. The duration of each trimester will be 12 weeks excluding examinations. The program will be run without a long vacation. The minimum time period to complete the program is 20 months (six trimesters). The maximum time of completion of the program is four years from the date of registration.

The MBA students are required to complete 27 courses and four practicum and graduate seminars (equivalent to 66 credit hours). Students are required to complete 7 foundation and analytical tool courses (18 credits), 10 core and functional courses (20 credits), 2 capstone courses (6 credits), 4 concentration/specialization courses (8 credits), 2 electives (4 credits), and graduate research project, internship, seminars, and other projects (10 credits).

The program offers several career-focused concentrations. These courses allow students to gain additional knowledge and skills on specific concentration areas. The students are required to select any four courses from any one of the following concentration areas.

Internship Program
Students are required to go for an internship in an assigned organization for a period of 8 to 10 weeks under the Internship Program. Students are required to present the Internship Project Report in the prescribed format. The evaluation of the Internship shall be based on confidential report of the host organization (40 percent) and presentation of the Internship Project Report in a seminar (60 percent).

Graduate Research Report
Towards the end of their study period, participating students are required to undertake a research assignment and prepare an integrative research report in any area of management as approved by the college. Students are required to attend the viva-voce examination and give a seminar presentation of their report as organized by the college. The weight assigned for viva and the research report will be 25% and 75% respectively.
