Course objectives
The Post Basic Bachelor Nursing programme is intended to:
- Prepare nurses as facilityto be able train basic and middle level nursing manpower.
- train managers and supervisors in the community and in hospital.
- prepare graduates who are able to conduct basic level research studies in the clinical and community field of nursing practices.
- prepare graduates as clinical specialist in hospital/community.
Field Area
Clinical and field experience is undertaken in hospital within the Kathmandu Valley and in rural communities of five development regions i.e. regional and district hospitals, IoM campuses and communities.
Programme requirements
- The programme is designed for a continuous full-time study over a period of two years.
- Students will be required to complete successfully all required courses.
- Students will be required to maintain pass mark in theory and practical courses in accordance with TU examination policy.

Eligibility Criteria
The admission requirements for the post basic bachelor of the nursing degree programme are as follows:
- Certificate is nursing from TU, IoM, or certificate awarded by Nepal Nursing Council or from any International Council of Nursing accredited nursing programme.
- A minimum of three years of nursing experience following completion of certificate in nursing.
- All applicants must sit for an entrance examination. Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit form those applicants who secure the qualifying mark in all the papers of the entrance examination.
Selection for admission
Question one of 100 full marks on problem solving on Women Health and Development. Pass mark is 50. Candidates are selected on merit basis.
