Bagmati State asks schools to distribute textbooks
May 1: The Bagmati State has asked the schools of the State to distribute textbooks to all students soon after publishing the results of final examinations.
The State government said it would facilitate to transport the textbooks up to schools as other emergency services.
Ministry for Social Development of the State asked all schools to distribute textbooks to students by maintaining social distancing. The State Government said textbooks should be distributed to maintain the learning environment for children staying at home due to the lockdown.

Deependra Subedi, officer at the ministry, said the State government decided to move forward as per the consultation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. Subedi said the State ministry had asked schools to motivate children for study from alternative medium like radio, television, online, offline and others.
Many community and private school across the country have started publishing the results and delivering it to the guardians online and making them phone calls from this week.
Meanwhile, District Education Development Unit of Tanahun has decided to make educational activities dynamic with different programmes of education.
A meeting of education section heads, under secretaries, section officers, technical assistants of all local governments of the district and head of DEDU decided to make education sector active.
Ramakanta Sharma, DEDU head of the district, said they decided to publish results as soon as possible, disseminate the results to students by maintaining social distance, distributing new textbooks to students and searching alternative ways to create learning environment for students during COVID-19.
Besides, the meeting also decided to request all guardians to create the learning environment for children at home. The meeting also decided to deliver technical skill development training to teachers regarding virtual education.
The district has also consulted with Gandaki State government about its decision on education in such critical situation.
