'Best teachers' from all provinces awarded
Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Gopal Man Shrestha conferred ‘PP Prasai National Best Teacher Award’ on Dang-based teacher Durga Prasad Pande and ‘PP Prasai Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award’ on Karna Shakya amid a function organised here today.
Pande is a teacher at Padmodaya Public Model Secondary in Dang and Shakya is a tourism entrepreneur.
Apart from Pande and Shakya, best teachers from all six provinces were also awarded. Hem Bahadur Khadka from Province 1, Januka Nepal from Province 3, Devendra Bahadur Khatri from Province 4, Chandi Prasad Pandeya from Province 5, Chandra Bhandari Neupane from Province 6 and Ganga Bhandari from Province 7 were also awarded. Distributing awards to the winners, DPM Shrestha said teachers played a great role in ensuring a bright future for children.
PP Prasai National Best Teacher Award carries a purse of Rs 50,000, while and other all awards carry a purse of Rs 25,000. President of the foundation Shikhar Prasai said education sector needed more investment.
PP Foundation was established in February 18, 2011 as a tribute to late Prajapati Prasai. The foundation was established with the objective of promoting education and tourism in Nepal.
