Bibeksheel Nepali Party suggests to government to scrap SEE
“Conduct university examinations only after the situation normalizes”
KATHMANDU, May 30: Bibeksheel Nepali Party has said that the COVID-19 pandemic is an opportunity for the government to scrap Secondary Education Examination (SEE) permanently.
The party also suggested to the government to cancel this year’s SEE examination and promote students as per the internal evaluation by their schools.
Likewise, the party also suggested to the government not to conduct grade 11 examinations this year. Owing to the pandemic, the party said that grade 12 examinations can be conducted after the situation normalizes.
“Likewise, university examinations can be conducted after the situation becomes normal. Schools can also be opened by adopting social distancing measures,” it said.
The party has also suggested several measures to adopt to reopen schools across the nation. “Classrooms can be divided into two or more parts. If necessary, classes can be conducted even on the playgrounds,” the party suggested to the government.
As many government schools have been turned into quarantine facilities, it said that those facilities can be shifted somewhere else to run academic classes smoothly.
“Disinfectants can be sprayed in classrooms to keep students and teachers safe from the virus,” according to the Bibeksheel Nepali Party.
Likewise, it has said that private school teachers should get 75 percent of their salaries for the months in which the classes have been halted. “Of the total salary of the private school teachers, the government can bear 50 percent, while the schools can bear 25 percent,” it said.
