The government on Thursday has directed all the medical colleges to enroll students on the basis of merit list within 7 days.

The meeting was held at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, on the co-ordination of Nepal Government’s Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi, in Singha Durbar in the Capital today.“The government executed the decision made earlier by the OPMCM on September 18, 2015, Apex Court’s order on December 1, 2015 and June 3, 2016 to admit students on the basis of merit list and notify to the OPMCM within 7 days,”it said in a statement today.

Failure to comply with the directives would result in cancellation of college affiliation, reads the statement.

It further sought updated information regarding the circular issued by the TU Dean Office to Office of the Controller of Examinations not to register the students from the non-merit list, within three days.
