Grade 11 exam starts peacefully
The first day of Grade 11 examinations conducted by the Higher Secondary Education Board saw no obstruction on Sunday.
Altogether 462,015 students are participating in the examination that will conclude on May 26. Among them, 286,133 students—151,349 boys and 134,784 girls—are attending for the test in regular category, while 175,882—80,851 boys and 95,031 girls—are the partial examinees.
HSEB Examination Controller Durga Prasad Aryal said the exam commenced peacefully. The Board has fixed 925 exam centres for the examinees from 3,338 higher secondary schools. HSEB has deployed 925 superintendents, 1,456 assistant superintendants, 1,032 observers, 14,318 invigilators, 11,100 security personnel, 925 employees and 1,850 assistants have been deployed to hold the exam. This year HSEB is acting tough imposing a six-month jail term and penalty of Rs 100,000 on those flouting the exam norms. To control cheating, the Board for the first time has arranged two sets of question papers for every subject.
