Grade XI exams begin today
Higher Secondary Education Board has appealed to all stakeholders to help it conduct grade XI examinations, which begin tomorrow, in a peaceful manner.
Two weeks ago, Nepal Community Higher Secondary Teachers’ Association had said it will not cooperate with the grade XII exams accusing the HSEB and the Ministry of Education of paying no heed to its demands. But at the eleventh hour, it had agreed to do away with its protest. Prahlad Gautam, member-secretary of the association, said the association had withdrawn the protest in view of grade XII exams. The association said it will give continuity to its protest if government authorities do not address its charter of demands, which includes making teachers with years of experience permanent.
The two-day nationwide strike of the Joint Struggle Committee, comprising organisations of the Brahmins, Chhetris, Dalits, Dashnamis and Thakuris, and an indefinite strike in the Far-Western Nepal had affected grade XII exams.
