Guardians push PABSON for enforcement of guidelines
The national gathering of National Guardians Association of Nepal has endorsed a 10-point resolution to push for the enforcement of the Institutional Schools Guidelines 2069, including to hold talks with the sides concerned.
Considering the debate that has surfaced taking over the guidelines developed with the cooperation and involvement of all the stakeholders, a resolution has been passed to enforce the guidelines following talks and consensus of the sides concerned, said Chairperson of the Association Dharma Bhakta Devkota.
It may be noted that the Private Boarding Schools Association of Nepal (PABSON) has warned to disobey the guidelines. In response, the Suprabhat Bhandari-led Guardians Association of Nepal has been protesting against the PABSON by putting up a black flag in the central office of PABSON two weeks ago.
The 10-point resolution includes among others call to represent the guardians association in the district education committee, promoting the schools as zone of peace concept, increasing the quality of community schools and free and timely supply of textbooks from Grade 1 to 10 in the community schools.
The National Association has also expressed the commitment to contribute on its behalf as much as possible in order to make the ongoing literacy campaign successful.
The gathering on Saturday was inaugurated by Education Secretary Som Lal Subedi.
