Hostel for girls built at KUSOM
Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) has added residential facilities for its girl students. Turkish ambassador to Nepal Dr Burak Akcapar inaugurated the hostel wing on the school premises at Balkumari, Lalitpur amid a programme. Vice-chancellor Prof Suresh Raj Sharma, dean Prof Subas KC and Turkish consul in Nepal CP Khetan, among others, were present at the function.
Construction of the hostel was partially supported by the Turkish government through Turkey’s Development Cooperation TIKA which provided US$ 100,000 to the university.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Akcapar expressed his happiness at being able to make some contribution to make it possible for girls of Nepal to access quality education and assured further support in the future.
Likewise, Vice-Chancellor Sharma and Dean KC expressed gratitude to the Turkish government for the support to Kathmandu University and said that the residential facility would provide a further opportunity for female students to excel in their pursuit of quality business education.
The university has stated that it has plans to extend the hostel facility as part of its policy of offering residential programmes to as many students as possible.
