India to rebuild 56 high schools in Nepal
June 8: The Indian government has decided to rebuild 56 higher secondary schools in various districts of Nepal.
The Embassy of India and the Central Level Project Implementation Unit (CLPIU) of the Ministry of Education, Nepal signed seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for re-building 56 higher secondary schools.
According to a press statement of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, the schools located in Gorkha, Nuwakot, Dhading, Dolakha, Kavrepalanchowk, Ramechhap and Sindhupalchowk districts will be reconstructed.
These schools will be re-built as part of Government of India’s post-earthquake reconstruction in Nepal with a grant of Rs 2.95 billion.
The reconstructed school infrastructure will consist of academic blocks, classrooms along with furniture and separate sanitation facilities for boys and girls.
