Indian aid for school, college buildings
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Jayant Prasad on Wednesday inaugurated two new buildings of Morang-based educational institutions constructed with Indian assistance of Rs 70.22 million. Ambassador Prasad inaugurated buildings of the Shree Krishna Prasad Koirala Sewa Guthi and Shree Adarsha Higher Secondary School built with the total cost of Rs 38.58 million and Rs 31.64 million respectively.
Addressing the inauguration programmes, Prasad underlined the importance of the Nepal-India Economic Cooperation Programme as a cornerstone of the development partnership between the two countries. He also expressed hope that various projects being implemented under the programme will help the people of Nepal in their journey towards peace and prosperity.
In addition to the construction of these buildings, India has also offered Rs 159 million for infrastructure projects, including other school
buildings, roads and a cold storage facility, in the district. The assistance also includes a gift of eight ambulances and three school buses. In the past, India constructed the Manmohan Memorial Polytechnic at Hattimudha VDC of Morang at a cost of Rs 400 million.
