Local levels start publishing exam routines
A few days after the National Examination Board’s (NEB) announcement to conduct Grade X and Grade XII examinations on coming June, local governments across the country have started publishing routine for Grade VIII final examinations.
As per the federal provision, the local government, municipalities and rural municipalities are responsible for conducting the basic school level examinations (BLE).
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced conducting the examination from May 17 to 25.
KMC’s education department has also instructed the religious schools to make necessary arrangements for the examinations and submit the marks of compulsory subjects at KMC office by May 27.
Similarly, at Gokarneshwor Municipality, students will be appearing for the BLE from May 20 to 28.
The examinations, formerly known as District Level Examination (DLE), used to be conducted by the district level before the federal provision. They are usually conducted before the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
This year, the government has extended academic session by two months in light of the disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
In the previous years, the academic session used to end by April.
