MoE official arrested for irregularities in MBBS scholarship
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today arrested Beni Madhav Bhattarai, who served as an under secretary at the Ministry of Education, on charge of receiving more than Rs 10 million as bribe from students appearing for MBBS scholarship examinations.
In a statement, the anti-graft body said that Bhattarai has been taken in custody for interrogation.
He is accused of promising better scores to the doctor wannabes in entrance exams in exchange money, and thus doing irregularities on scholarship distribution in December 2011-January 2012.
