NPABSAN wants school directives amended
National Private and Boarding School Association Nepal (NPABSAN) today demanded amendments to the recently issued Institutional School Criteria and Operation Directives-2013.
Some criteria in the directives could create hurdles in the operation of institutional schools, therefore, they should be amended, said NPABSAN at a press meet in the Capital today.
Gita Rana, president, NPABSAN said they had no objection to the implementation of directives, but some points needed to be amended for the smooth functioning of schools.
The directives have fixed minimum number of students in a classroom, but at a time when there is competition among schools to admit maximum number of students, the directives should be revised, she said.
Likewise, if schools should remove three-wheeler vehicles used for carrying students, she demanded that a provision be made not to impose any customs duty while purchasing school buses.
“Since the government had promised to amend the directives if difficulties were found in their implementation, we are hopeful that our demands will be addressed,” she added.
