PABSON to close private schools across country to mourn demise of ex-chair Pokhrel
Private and Boarding School Organisation of Nepal (PABSON) has decided to close all private schools across the country coming Tuesday to mourn the demise of its former Chair Baburam Pokhrel.
An emergency meeting of the PABSON held on Sunday following the death of Pokhrel took a decision to this effect, according to General Secretary Rajendra Baniya.
PABSON former chair Pokhrel, who was a heart patient, passed away this morning at the Thapathali-based Norvic International Hospital.
Likewise, organisation’s flag will be lowered for three days – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday- and PABSON has decided not to hold official programmes till January 13, expressing grief over the demise of former chair.
Last rites of Pokhrel, who is also the advisor to the PABSON and founding principal of Vinayak Sudha (VS) Niketan Schools, will be performed Tuesday. He was also a Constituent Assembly member from the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal under the PR quota.
