Plus Two exams kick off
The final examination of grade XII kicked off across the country today, the Higher Secondary Education Board said.
Altogether 136,060 boys and 126,929 girls sat for the English examination on the first day in the regular category, while 64,274 boys and 78,263 girls took the day’s test in partial category.
“The exam was largely peaceful, except for a few cases,” said Durga Prasad Aryal, controller of examinations at the board. He said 925 examination centres were set up in various locations nationwide.
He said the board has deployed 925 superintendents, 1,348 assistant superintendents, 944 observers, 13,176 invigilators, 11,100 security personnel, 925 employees and 1,850 assistants for the examination.
HSEB has said it would impose a five-month jail term and fine of Rs 1 lakh if anyone is found resorting to unfair means, said the board. The examinations will end on May 11.
