PU office padlocked
Tarai Madhes Democratic Party’s student wing at Pokhara University, which had submitted a 15-point demand including quotas for Madhesi students, padlocked the university’s Kathmandu liaison office on Wednesday. Lal Babu Yadav, Chairman of Tarai Madhes Students’ Front Coordination Committee said they padlocked the office because their demand was not heeded. One key demand is quota for Madhesi students in scholarships and admissions.
Yadav said indigenous Dalit students were getting quotas in Pokhara University but Madhesis were denied the same. Pokhara University Registrar Manav KC said they would hold talks with the student wing to resolve the problem.
