Results of Grade XI exams delayed
The Office of the Controller of the Examinations has yet to announce the results of Grade XI examinations, which were held some five months ago.
As per rules, the OCE is required to publish the results within 90 days of the examinations.
OCE, blaming Tarai unrest for the delay, said they were in the final stages of publishing the results. The delay has affected students under the exempted category the most.
Rabi Sharma from Bhaktapur, who had appeared in physics test under the exempted category, said he was impatiently waiting for the results as it has obstructed his plans for further studies.
“I had a plan to study abroad but publication of the result is taking longer than expected,” he said, adding, “If the results are delayed further, I will have to drop my plan of going abroad this year.”
Meanwhile, Santosh Aryal, acting chief of OCE, said they were in the final stages of publishing the results. “We have to go through a process while publishing the results. So, we will soon publish the result,” he said. He said publication of results was delayed as exams were
conducted in two phases this year due to the April and May earthquakes and the ongoing Tarai unrest.“We are aiming to publish the results by the end of Paush (mid-January), but it might take longer if there is any technical difficultly,” he added.
