TU makes public FSU poll schedule
Tribhuvan University has made public the schedule for the Free Students Union polls. The FSU elections are set for June 6. As per the schedule, FSU Election Committee is will make the voters’ list public on May 24.
Bhawana Bajracharya, Chief of Information Section, TU, said if anyone needed any clarification or correction to be made regarding the voters’ list, they should do so before 1:00pm on May 27 and the committee would then publish the final list of voters the same day by 5:00pm. Likewise, student unions have been asked to provide their nomination letters for candidacy for first-past-the-post and proportional electoral systems by May 28 and the sealed list of nomination letters of candidates would be sent to FSUEC by May 30 .FSUEC needs to publish the list of candidates for FTPT electoral system by May 30. According to the poll schedule, the candidates could put their claims and queries before noon on May 31 and the final list of the names of candidates would be published by 3:00pm the same day. Further, the candidates could withdraw their names before 1:00pm on June 2 and the final list of candidates would be published on the same day by evening.
Ganga Thapa, chief, Students Welfare Directorate, said, “The campuses need to act as per the schedule and if complications arise, the date and time may change, which would be managed by the respective election commissions.”
