UK visa application process to go online
The British Embassy in Katmandu on Sunday announced online process for all applicants seeking visa as visitor or under Tiers 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the points based system and their appointment at the visa application centre.
The new regulation will begin effectively from October 15, according to the embassy.
“From this date, the UK Border Agency (UKBA) will not accept manually submitted applications for visas in these categories,” read the embassy statement. However, applicants will not be required to make settlement visa applications online until a later date, the embassy informed.
By completing and submitting an online visa application, the applicant will save time when attending the visa application centre, the statement said, as the application information will have already been received and recorded.
UKBA Regional Director Thomas Greig said his office and its commercial partner, VFS Global, made the changes to the application processes to provide customers with an efficient visa service.
“In this case, completing and submitting applications online will save time. Some applicants already use this facility but gradually we would like all applicants to use it,” he said.
