Every year, Dalhousie awards millions in scholarships and bursaries to support incoming students. More than 2,000 entrance awards are available through General Entrance Award application.Entrance awards are offered to students who are entering Dalhousie in the Fall term.
Entrance Awards/Scholarships
If you’re applying to Dalhousie directly from high school (or have not completed any other transferable post-secondary study), please complete the General Entrance Award application to be considered for the majority of entrance awards and bursaries available. These are awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular involvement, community service, financial need and cultural identity.
Scholarship Value:
Award amounts typically range from approximately $750 for your first year to $48,000 ($12,000 per year for 4 years).Some awards are offered based on academics and other achievements, some are based on financial need, and others are hybrid awards and consider a student's grades, involvement outside of the classroom, and financial need.
Eligibility:
> Students applying to Dalhousie directly from high school for September 2024 can apply for the General Entrance Award Program.
> Mature students who have not completed any transferrable post-secondary study are also eligible to apply.
> All applicants regardless of citizenship are eligible to apply for the General Entrance Award Program.
> Transfer applicants are not eligible to apply to the General Entrance Award program with the exception of Indigenous Black and First Nations students from the Maritimes who wish to be considered for the First Nations and Indigenous Black Student Scholarship.

Eligibility
Generally, students need an 80% admission average or 26 predicted/anticipated IB Diploma points to be considered. Averages are calculated using the five courses that are required for the program that the student has applied for. Both domestic and international students are eligible to apply. For the First Nations and Indigenous Black Student Scholarships, the admissions average is not taken into consideration.
