The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Monbukagakusho/MEXT) of Japan offers scholarships to foreign students who wish to study at Japanese universities and colleges.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The Embassy of Japan announces the competition for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarships for Nepal students for the academic year 2025 in the field of Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Program:
1. Research Student
2. Undergraduate Students and
3. Specialized Training Collage Students

Qualifications:
> Must have been born on or after April 2, 1990, have completed at least 16 years of education and secured 70% marks (CGPA: 3.1) for Natural Sciences and 60% (CGPA: 2.5)for Humanities and Social Sciences in average in plus 2 and above degrees.
> Must have been born on or after April 2, 2000, and have secured at least 75% marks (CGPA: 3.5) for Natural Sciences and 65% marks (CGPA: 2.9) for Humanities and Social Sciences average in SEE and Plus 2 exams.
> Written examinations will be held on June 29th.

For research students, the field of study must be the same as the applications’ previous study leading to their final graduation. Attested (by Notary Public) copies of the academic transcripts and Nepali citizenship need to be submitted along with the application.
