United Technical College
Bharatpur, ChitawanProfile
United Technical College, College of Engineering, also known as (U-TEC), was founded in 2008 (2065 BS) through a private sector initiative. U-TEC was founded by a group of foresighted professionals and academicians who recognized the need for a college that provided technical education outside of the valley. Historically, university-level engineering education in the private sector has been concentrated in the capital.
To reach a larger segment of Nepali youth outside the valley and make quality technical education accessible and affordable to the poor and deprived youths in the outer region, it was necessary to establish technical colleges outside of the capital, which U-TEC did by establishing the first private engineering college in Chitwan.
