Course Description:
The Bachelor of Civil Engineering program is intended to produce competent civil engineers. It is a four-year program with eight semesters. For graduation, a student must successfully complete 126 credit hours of course work, practical work, and project work. The course focuses on the creation and upkeep of the physical built environment, such as dams, roads, and buildings.
The BE Civil program's primary goal is to produce highly competent and skilled civil engineering professionals capable of designing, analyzing, and managing civil engineering projects of all sizes. The program also aims to help students improve their ability to collaborate, think critically, and apply their knowledge and skills to real-world problems.
Civil engineering has a broad scope, and graduates of the BE Civil program can pursue careers in a variety of fields such as construction, infrastructure, transportation, water resources, environmental engineering, and many others. They can work for the government, private companies, or start their own businesses.
Upon completion of the BE Civil program, students will be able to:
- Analyze and design various types of civil engineering structures and systems
- Plan and execute civil engineering projects within time, budget, and quality constraints
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to solve engineering problems
- Apply their knowledge of engineering, mathematics, and science to design and solve real-world problems
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively as a team member or a leader in a multi-disciplinary environment
