Course Description:
The BE Civil and Rural program is a four-year full-time program that focuses on teaching knowledge and skills in various areas of civil engineering, with a focus on rural development. Rural infrastructure development, sustainable water resource management, sustainable rural development, and rural energy systems are among the topics covered in the program.
Apart from traditional Civil Engineering projects, graduates in Civil and Rural Engineering are expected to work in a variety of government and development agencies focused on rural infrastructure development, natural resource management, agro-industries, and rural credit institutions.
The objectives of the BE Civil and Rural program are as follows:
1. To provide students with an in-depth understanding of civil engineering concepts and their application in rural development projects.
2. To prepare students for professional practice in the civil engineering field with a focus on rural development.

Eligibility:
10+2 Science/Intermediate Level Science/Diploma in Engineering or Equivalent as recognized by Pokhara University with minimum 45% or second division / "C" Grade (final of theory & practical) in each subject on grade 11 and 12.
Syllabus
The BE Civil and Rural program is a four-year full-time course, and each academic year comprises two semesters.The BE Civil and Rural program comprises 149 credit hours and covers 46 courses. Some of the courses included in this program are Mathematics for Engineering, Engineering Drawing, Mechanics of Solids, Fluid Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Engineering Hydrology, Surveying, Rural Water Supply and Sanitation, Rural Energy Systems, Rural Road Design, and Project Management.
