Course Description:
Pokhara University's Bachelor of Architecture program is a five-year program that aims to provide systematic knowledge and skills in the planning, design, and conservation of buildings and other physical artifacts with considerations for aesthetics, comfort, durability, social responsiveness, and integration with natural and man-made landscapes.
The program aims to provide a comprehensive education that prepares students to become proficient architects, well-versed in architectural theories, principles, and practical aspects such as design, construction, and building systems.
Graduates of this course can expect to have a thorough understanding of architectural principles, design processes, and technical aspects of building construction and systems. They will learn to conceptualize and design architecturally pleasing, functional, and sustainable designs.

Eligibility
> The candidates should have completed Class 12 examination of NEB or equivalent level from a recognized academic institution.
> The candidates should have studied at least one course (having at least 100 full marks or 5 credits) each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
> The candidates should have scored a minimum of 45% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.0 (in a scale of 4.0) and at least Grade C (in case of A-level, at least Grade D) or 45% in each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
The minimum criterion of Grade C (in case of A level, Grade D) or 45% does not apply to other courses or extra courses, if any. Candidates should have studied mathematics of at least 100 marks in Class 11 or class 12 examination of NEB or equivalent level.
Syllabus
It is a five-year program spread over ten semesters. A student needs to successful complete 150 credit hours of course work, project work and thesis for graduation.
The course in this program includes academic and practical classes with emphasis on individualized instruction and supervision. Field trips, site visits, and exposure to visiting professors and practicing architects and engineers from different backgrounds broaden the students' understanding and experience. A full semester of practical work in an architect's office helps to prepare the student for the real world of professional work before graduation. The final semester is dedicated to the thesis project where the students demostrate their ability to independently undertake research and analysis and prepare the architectural design of a defined program.
