11th Higher Education & Career Fair 2012 to begin
Direction Nepal and JCI are organizing the 11th Higher Education & Career Fair 2012 from June 15 to June 30 in three different places in Nepal.
The expo will be held first in Pokhara at the FNCCI Exhibition Hall from June 15 to June 17, in Kathmandu at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall from June 21 to June 24 and finally in Narayanghat at Chitwan Higher Secondary School from June 28 to June 30.
The expo will see more than a 100 international and national institutes, some offering on-the-spot admissions and scholarships. The entrance ticket price, keeping the students in mind, will be at Rs 20 each.
“We first came up with the idea when we found out that many Nepali students were looking for educational opportunities abroad,” said Pashupati KC, Director at Direction Nepal, at a press conference held on Tuesday at United World Trade Center in Kathmandu.
“We also want Nepali students to realize that there are excellent educational opportunities in Nepal, not only in Kathmandu but in Pokhara and Chitwan as well. This is our 11th educational fair and we’ve gained a very good response and because of it, it’s been two years since we’ve started organizing this event in Pokhara and Narayanghat, too, and in the future, we hope to cover more places in Nepal,” he added.
The Higher Education & Career Fair is the oldest education event that started 12 years ago in 2002. The expo has been providing platforms for young students to gather information on colleges and their higher education.
The fair showcases colleges that offer courses for +2, Bachelor’s level, Hotel Management, Chartered Accountancy, Technological and MBBS studies, making it a must-attend for all SLC and +2 graduates.
“I think this Fair is the best education exhibition because it provides opportunities to students to gain information about the emerging career options in various fields of education and to choose the best course as well as the best institute. It is an event where colleges, universities and educational institutions from various places come to meet specifically with student applicants regarding their courses. Students and parents have a good opportunity to meet & interact directly with education providers of engineering, management, medical and other professional courses,” said Trilokyashwor Malla, Managing Director of Direction Nepal.
The fair will also have seminars for students on good educational opportunities in Pokhara and Chitwan and on “fake” colleges that Nepali students get sucked into abroad.
