425 students awarded scholarship
At the annual event of Association of St. Mary’s Alumnae Nepal (ASMAN) ‘ASMAN Scholarship Program’ held on Sunday, scholarship was provided to 425 students of Mary Ward School of Jhamsikhel and Lubhu. This program was organized with the vision of promoting girl’s education.
ASMAN, a non-government, non-profit organization devoted to the cause of aiding and supporting under-privileged Nepali women, came up with the ASMAN Scholarship Program, “Each One Teach One” in 2002 with the dream of finding sponsors for children studying at Mary Ward School of Lubhu and Jhamsikhel. With each scholarship covering the cost of school uniform, stationery and textbooks, this program is aimed at encouraging academic involvement of children from a poor economic background.
The sponsors personally provided gifts and interacted with the recipient children, who were extremely delighted to receive them.
Former Miss Nepal Malina Joshi and Miss Tourism Samriddhi Rai were also present at the event where Samridhhi and Youtube sensation Nattu Shah also gave a captivating musical performance.
