547,165 examinees to attend the SLC examination this year
Bhaktapur: The Office of the Controller of examinations, Sanothimi has urged everyone not to organize bandhs and strikes during the period of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations to be conducted from Thursday, March 14- March 22.
All the preparations are complete, said Deputy Controller Pralhad Aryal adding question papers, answer sheets and all other materials have been sent to the security bodies near the examination centres in the districts.
The office has also arranged for keeping facilitators by hearing impaired examinees for half an hour.
Giving information on this, Controller Khagaraj Baral said the facilitators should be able to talk in sign language and be a teacher of lower secondary level.
Moreover, the selection of these people will be by the superintendent.
Likewise, blind students can keep facilitators who are studying in class eight instead of the earlier provision of having passed class eight.
He said the examinees cannot be deprived of examination if requested earlier if they have filled double registration forms, but certificates should be presented of annulment of one of them.
Some 547,165 examinees have been participating this year all over the country, whereas there are 430, 097 in regular and 117, 068 in exempted.
There are 1,786 examination centres across the country and Kathmandu has the largest number or 86 and the least in Manang and Mustang one each.
The office has assigned 1,786 superintendents, 2,655 assistant superintendents, 21,890 invigilators, 7,297 assistants, and 19,860 security personnel all over the country.
The office is spending Rs. 512 per student and student with less than 70 pc attendance have been barred from sitting in examination.
It said a special strategy has been adopted for making the exams disciplined and systematic and six months in prison or upto Rs. 100,000 in fines will be charged as per the crime if the secrecy is violated, or one enters without permission in the centre or does undisciplined acts in the centre.
The exam will run from 8:00 am-11:00 am in the morning.
